Hey Brainiacs!
I'm going after a Bio degree at U of M - and this year I hit my max for federal loans... For fall semester, I will be getting a total financial aid refund of $30. No matter how international the editions - I cannot afford my books with only $30! I have two part-time jobs, and those help me pay for rent (I also have very helpful parents!) - but I still need gas, food, highlighter money... the essentials.
So I guess I need to get a private student loan. I wouldn't want more than $5,000 for the year - but I definitely want to stay away from Chase and Citibank (FI's loans are through these banks, and we have not had a very good experience with them).
Any advice ladies? Any help would be much appreciated! I'm the first and only one in my immediate family to go to college, so my family has no idea where to start either!
