I'm taking 18 credits this semester to make sure I can transfer to a university this fall. I've always gotten good grades and never had to use any tutoring services or anything. Unfortunately, econ is kicking my butt! I just flat out DON'T GET IT. It makes me feel really uncomfortable too since everyone in my class is in business, accounting, etc while I'm majoring in social work. They all get it easily so the teacher doesn't need to spend all day explaining it to them.
My first test is this week so I'm getting desperate. I decided to check out the free tutoring services at my school. Apparently, they do have a supplemental instruction group (a.k.a. tutoring group) available for econ....Except it's on Wednesday mornings. The only days I get off of school are Wed, Sat, and Sun. When I texted my mother with this news, she said I should just move in! Agh!
The school WILL allow you to request a different time for a one-on-one tutor (and I'd REALLY like to go on a day when I'm already on campus!), but they really encourage you to use the group and I'd have to go through some big process to even get the day....
I guess I should just suck it up and go. I guess I just needed to vent. Anyone else struggling this semester?
