Dilemma

So I am in a Masters program which allows students to work full time as classes are at night. I just applied for a job that is perfect for my goals and I am in the last stage of interviews. I got nervous and backed out of the interview but they told me that they really like me and to stay with the interview scheduled that they will work around my school schedule in the fall.

One issue that I didn't tell them was that FI just got a large scholarship for a school in LA (we live in northern CA/Bay Area) and I plan on moving with him down to LA in January once I finish my degree. Is it right to take a job now and then leave in January? to work in LA and plan a wedding? I feel like its not fair to the company but on the other hand I need the money to move out there to be with FI. We did long distance for our undergrad and I really don't want to do that again.

Any thoughts? Should I take the job?

Re: Dilemma

  • If they offer you the job, go ahead and take it.  Just be clear when you sign on about what you plan to do.  Then you're not being unfair.  Good luck!

Just let them know  about the plans whether they are definitive or not and if they really want you, they will take you for the time available.  Good Luck.
  • Take the job. January is a long time from now so its not like you are leaving them next month. So many things could change by Jan.
