Hey student-brides!
My name is Maggie and I am engaged to Arthur. We are planning to be wed on July 1st, 2012 and have been engaged since April 17, 2010. He's an undergrad at SCAD studying fine arts in game design (May 2012 grad date). I'm an undergrad at KU studying business (Dec 2012 grad date).
We met on a mission trip to China to visit orphans in July 2007. We sort of hit-it-off and became friends. When we got home, he emailed me and said, "I have Mag-lag!" We called and emailed for weeks, then finally went on a little date. After I returned from a three month internship, he asked me out. We've been stuck like glue ever since.
He proposed last April when I visited him in Savannah, GA. It was nothing too extravagent, but we had spent the day at the beach, went to a nice dinner, then got ice cream together. On our way to the girls' dorms for me to sleep, he pulled me into the mail room, opened his box up and there sat the ring. He pulled it out, knelt on one knee, and asked me to marry him.
It may seem a little odd, but we have written dozens of letters to eachother throughout school and my internship, so it was very fitting. It was just a perfect day, and getting engaged at the end was the icing on the cake.
I love him so much, and we can't wait to get married because it means we'll finally be TOGETHER! He's been travelling back and forth to GA for the past two years, and the LDR is no fun at all.
I'm glad to know there are other student-brides out there! People look at me like I'm nuts when I say I'm in school and engaged. ha!
