I'm trying to suprise fh and transfer this fall. (I'm 5 hours away normally!!)

It's totally do-able with scholarship deadlines and application deadlines.

He thinks it's gonna be another year before I transfer.

Any cute ideas for telling him?

I always like a good fake-out:

"Honey, I just found out something pretty important that I want to talk to you about.  I, uh, found out for sure today that I'm not going back to [Current School] anymore."

Pause for reaction.

"I don't want to get into why, really, but what I have to do now is get everything together and try to get accepted into this other school, except it's super-far away...but it's really the only option right now.  Have you ever hear of [New School Near FI]?"
