So it's finally creeped me out.  Lurkers.  I keep noticing people post one time then never come back.  I know some of you have been creeped out by the "unknown" for awhile but it just hit me that there's people reading all this and we don't even know.  Kinda creepy.  I didn't care before actually but now I think I'm gonna start minding what I say on here.

Yea Amber.  I have to start telling my self that too.  I didn't mind before but now all of a sudden it got to me.Jojo, it is very creepy that people "know" us and we don't even know it.

AHHHhhh ur so right! I don't even realize it half the time, I feel like we're in our own lil world half the time and forget other people are "watching" us.

I feel like it's our own little world too.  Lately there have been a lot of people posting and running so now I'm being more cautious.

Its been bothering me more and more lately. I know most people that post, including lurkers, have a siggy but then I think about how many people on here I actually know or have met and it just freaks me out sometimes. Its like, people say they are the person in the pic but you never know and people are so different in person as well. Like maybe I really like or dont like them on here but it could be completely different in real life.

yea, I learned that I don't like you after meeting you...J/K!!!!It doesn't bother me that I haven't met everyone.  I'm not worried about the regulars...I'm more worried about the lurkers or people that post once but probably lurk all the time.  I would rather them come out of hiding and post than read and get to know us and never say anything.  I don't lurk on any other boards other than to skim them when I'm bored.

Who's to say they aren't doing the same thing though? Maybe they are just bored and checking out the different boards.

I know some aren't just skimming though.  Someone one time said they'd been lurking for awhile and felt like they knew us.

If I skim boards it's the national ones, not the locals or more personal ones.  I skim the general ones like Buying  a Home.

creepy. but maybe theyre just shy. i know i didnt post for forever because i felt like i didnt know what to say. i know its a poor excuse but just pointing out that the intentions might not be creepy.

I know what you mean Emily, it was very intimidating to actually post on here the 1st time I did, because I felt like everyone knew eachother and wouldnt be as nice to a newbie

I think we are mean to each other more than we would be to a new poster. Maybe we go back to doing a once a week post welcoming newbies. Would that help?

I started watching what I said when there was a poll on one of the month boards that was "Where do you lurk?" (Kasi found it). A bunch of those girls said that they lurked on the IE board! Creepy. But that was only because of Kenor I think. I don't mind if people lurk for a little bit and then post and hang around. It gets strange when they post and then leave. It makes me think they are back to lurking again or something.

That is so weird, I was wondering the same thing.. because she never came back and said she was from that area. I guess we'll never know, but it's a good reminder of how public it is.

That was kind of a dramatic story. That thought had not crossed my mind. Looking back it totally sounds like a Kenor story.

lol. This post is funny. I used to lurk a lot when I was involved in my cousins's weddings. I pretty much was attracted to the food posts (especially cakes lol). I'm not on here too much anymore. I swear I didn't mean to intro and run. haha.
