So Not Wedding related

But, I was wondering if you girls knew of a good way of learning spanish besides taking a class.  I had classes in high school and some in college but, I would really like to learn how to speak it and understand it well.  Any suggestions?

I know what you're talking about, but I can't remember the name. Something Stone, I think

Have a friend that speaks Spanish speak to you only in Spanish AND you answer back in Spanish once you know enough.  Do you understand any of it right now?

I hear its a really good program. I need to improve my spanish skills as well. Let us know if you get it and how it works for you.

Rosetta stone is a couple hundred, so Jon and I got the costco equivalent, which was around $40. We bought Spanish and French, but they are still on our to-do list. We started putting the french CD in the car then decided we should do the Spanish one first.. so now we are doing neither.

Yeah, French is a lot like Spanish just with a totally different accent. I took French all 4 years in high school and learned a lot becase I know Spanish. So you should learn Spanish first.

I know a good amount of spanish from high school and college spanish. Jon knows more french. A lot of filipino words are derived from Spanish also. Jon's family all know how to speak french.. so that's why we bought both.

I like Kasi's idea. I do that at work. I don't stick to it though. Good Luck.

I am hispanic..full on...yet am not fluent in Spanish.  My parents both are but they never made an effort to speak to us in Spanish when I was younger.  They spoke it enough for me to catch on to understanding but I cannot hold a conversatioin.  I can read it just fine and I when I do say the little bit I know I sound like I'm fluent but I'm not.   I wish my parents would have taught us.  :(

That is why I think it would be good to do this with my 6 year old.  It would be nice for him to be fluent as well!
