I posted this on March 2011 board, but in an effort to resurrect this board:
I am meeting with my planner and my dj today at my venue. My venue is kind of like a loft or studio with two stories in it; you can see the entire top floor from the bottom floor and vise versa. I wanted to have the ceremony upstairs and the dinner/ reception downstairs. EDIT : The Mitten Building
Welp... the dance floor rental is an additional $300... I ain't paying it! Luckily, the upstairs has wood flooring, so I figured I will just have the dinner /reception upstairs. Here is the kicker---- /> I want to have a slideshow during dinner, but the projection screen is dowstairs and there is no way to move it or even attempt to have a slide show upstairs at all.
My dj suggested that I have the ceremony upstairs, then have a cocktail hour downstairs and show the slideshow, then come back upstairs for dinner and reception. He is comming so that he can see how he will setup and even offered to have the slideshow music come from his system. What do you think? IDK anymore, I'm confuzzled here...
Then my planner and I are supposed to talk about decor, table arrangements, timeline, ect. What questions should I be asking? She has already included centerpeices, bouquets, charger plates, and a backdrop in my package. Im guessing we need to talk about having the tables arranged already, if I'm going to have the ceremony and reception upstairs. That way all they have to do is move the chairs out of the way and slide the pre arranged tables in place... IDK here either....
My dinner comes with my venue and my cake is ordered but I still feel like IDK what to do and I'm pulling my hair out. HELP PLEASE!!
