12 months until my Wedding!

OK, so I'm sure that sounds silly, but I posted here a while back and felt even more silly then because my wedding is so far away...However, now it's almost 12 months to the day until I get married, so now I feel like I can officially start getting in the spirit.

I think I know the dress I want (gotta work on my arms first) and the color of the bridesmaid dresses (deep, navy blue).  Have an incredible photographer and have no clue about flowers. There. So excited. Wish I could afford a wedding planner, but I guess copying a few magazines will have to do.

Can't wait!

One more thing....Does anyone find all of this planning a bit overwhelming? There are soo many things to think of and so many vendors.

Where are you finding most of your vendors from? On The Knot or elsewhere? I'm pretty excited about my photographer (Dreamland Photography), but I found her by word of mouth. Are the vendors on here more expensive than most?  I like flowers, but I don't want to pay tons. Not sure what to do or where to go.  Also, I guess we'll need a dj (though we are so not dancers!).

Welcome back.  Yes, planning a wedding is a bit overwhelming at times.  This site helped me a ton with timelines on when to get things in done and put in order of priority.   I also got tons of ideas from the pics and the ladies on the boards.  The Knot is a really great resource.

Have you been to L.A. yet?  They have a flower district where vases and flowers are super cheap.  A lot of flower vendors actually get their flowers from there.  I ended up doing the flower arraingements myself and bought everything out there.

The vendors I used were either word of mouth, research, and one was from a wedding show or whatever they are called (it's been so long!).  As for the shows (where the vendors are at a convention center or hotel...what is it called??), I think most vendors are over priced.  Going to one is good to get ideas but I was blown away by the prices the vendors charged for their services.

Anyway, stick around.  We're a great bunch of ladies.  Some of us are married already and know the ins and outs.  Others are planning their weddings and their a great to go to for advice as well.  We're all here for the same reason.  Hope to see you posting.

I am about a month away from my wedding and I'm totally over the whole planning process!

It is a bit overwhelming. I just started getting the big vendors (reception hall, caterer, photogrpher. etc.) early on. Then started on other things as time got closer (Dress, accessories, invites). I spread things out and just following my own timeline (loosely based on the ones from the knot).

Starting early helped me out a ton. I started planning the second I got engaged (march 20th of last year) and am now just finalizing things with all my vendors and worrying about all the lil details!

This website is very helpful! As for vendors, I asked the ladies on here and I searched online, and asked anyone I could. Like Kasi said, for the flowers, go to Downtown LA! They are super cheap. You can also go there for the smaller things like ring pillow, unity candle, veil, everything wedding you can think of and it's sure to be cheaper than most places!

Sorry to write a book, but I hope it helps!!!

    Oh and welcome back!!!Kiss
