I have it.  Andrew has it.  It doesn't cost much because of our ages but it will help in the case that one of us dies.

DH and I both have it. We dont want to have to worry about losing the house or debt if something were to happen to one/both of us.

Agreed.  Both Andrew and Suri are beneficiaries to my life insurance.

I have it. I have had a whole life policy for a few years now. Currently, my parents and my sister are the beneficiaries. The reason why I got it was just incase I died my parents would have money to have a funeral for me. Unfortunately, my parents (mostly my mom and her compulsive spending habits) haven't been too good with money and are living paycheck to paycheck. It is only a 60k policy but that is plenty to burn me and stick me in an urn and have a few bucks left over. lol.

As soon as George and I get married I plan on getting more added to mine and getting some on him. I'm thinking a term policy on him though because he is older and has a few health issues. I'm sure a whole life policy would be really pricey for him.

The good thing about whole life policies is that when you are older (like retirement age) you can borrow against it without paying any taxes. I say go whole life if you can afford it.

good toi see you all have some. any is better then none you know.....i feel so strong about life insurance, not only because i sell it but also because its the one policy that you are bound to use for sure...i agree with bre, the whole life is a great policy because of the cash value however not sure who its with bre but statefarm has a universal policy which is a little better, it is flexible and it has a min. 4% interest on your money. i have the whole life and term on myself, a term on fi and universal on my son....i know most people think its not a necessity and with this economy no wants to spend the money on it...anywhays i need your help on some ideas to get people to get them. what would talk you into buying one??

Mine is through NY Life. I don't even remember what the  minimum interest rate is on mine. I should look.

What is the differnce between whole life and universal? Can you make more $ off a universal plan?

yeah bre you should check. the universal is way more flexible so later down the road if you think you need more coverage you can simply up the amount on the current policy instead of havving to take out a new one. the universal seems to build the cash value faster vs. the whole life policy.

I have a small policy at work... but I have no assets, not married (yet) with no dependants, so when I die so does my debt..... now when those change I will get a policy

I've got 3, 2 at work and 1 thru Primearica
I just wanted to make sure my husband and boys are gonna be ok if something happens to me. 1 of the polocies my work pays for the 2nd I think I pay less than $5 a month for and them we both have one with Pimearica
It is something that is completely importnat to have not just if you have a family but even if you are singe, Its hard enough to deal with the loss of a loved one but to know you cant afford to bury them ontop of all that is unbareable
