California-Inland Empire

Need recommendations for a SoCal beach wedding venue!

I am engaged and currently living in Portland, OR but we are relocating to Orange County by March 2011. We are planning a wedding for late summer 2011 and would LOVE to have it on the beach in Cali. I would prefer a house/beachfront venue versus your typical dining hall. I looked on a vacation rentals by owner website but wonder if anyone else has done this and had success? Any advice on the rules/regulations and locations? Anywhere along the Southern California beach is ideal. Please help!

Hello and welcome! You should post this on the Orange County board.
This is the Inland Empire board and we are...well inland. While the
beaches aren't that far away for some of us I'm sure the OC girls can
give you more specifics about beach weddings.

With that said, I do know that for a lot (if not all) the beaches you need
a permit. I don't think all of the beaches offer permits either. Try googling
Laguna Beach, Dana Point, San Clemente beach weddings and see if
anything pops up. I also know that there is a "park" in the San Diego (if
you don't mind having your wedding there) area that does weddings
near the beach. Your feet aren't in sand but it is absolutely beautiful if
you are having a small wedding (no more than 50ish). It is called The
Wedding Bowl and it is in La Jolla.

EDIT: I did a little googling and found this site for you:
    http://www.allcaliforniabeachweddings.com/questions_about_beach_weddings.html

    I hope that helps a little! =)

look at the gazebo in Laguna Beach. it is behind Las Bresas restaurant and is absolutely stunning. doesnt hold many people, but if a small intimate ceremony is what your looking for, its perfect! it is owned by the city so you would have to contact them for renting it out for part of the day, as well as your own officiant. good luck & congrats! hope you love cali!
