As for me, we are using ours to pay for our honeymoon and some debt.  Fun stuff...Where are you going to go on a trip Amber?

we use california tax services on waterman in san bernardino. shes awesome and we get back the max every year. this year we have the house to write off as well as the baby so im anxious to see what we get back from that. we are paying off credit cards, paying off the balance on fi's dirtbike and then the rest is going toward the wedding.

I used to use H&R Block for years but NO MORE! I get back more than double by using a tax man. He takes the time to find every little possible deduction and its great. He does make us pay up front :(

We are looking at going to Jamaica or one of those islands

ours is around 300 for both of us. we usually pay when we pick up the paperwork. not sure if you can pay when you get the check we usually do an automatic refund thing.

Last year my tax guy charged me $110 and he charged DH $150 (he makes more $) but we are filing together this year so I don't know what he will charge us for that. Its soooo worth it just in what I get back though. They do book up pretty far in advance which is kind of a bad thing. We booked our appt a few weeks ago. Either way, dont go back to H&R Block

I was going to do our taxes this past weekend but thankfully I didn't.  We ended up getting more tax documents.  I thought we had everything but I forgot our mortgage was sold a month after we purchased.  We ended up getting a tax doc from the firs mortgage company we had yesterday.  Good thing I waited.

I do my own taxes using Turbo Tax.  I only used a tax person 2 or 3 times.  I found that I waste the money because I can get the same amount back myself.  BUT that was for when I was single...and last year as well.  I'm a little worried about the house thing now though.

As for our refund.  We plan to fix the escrow account crap.  If we have more left then all of that will go toward debt.  We have all the toys we want and we have $ put away for this years vacation so debt it is!

*dreading taxes and finding receipts, paperwork, etc*

I don't even want to think about it yet.

Jojo, you have much much more intricate taxes than we do.  I don't blame you!!!

I used to love tax time too.. Both of our incomes were untaxed in 2009 so it's a different story now. I'll probably be a big ball of stress soon.

I haven't done mine yet. I'm still waiting for one of my forms to come. I think it is just for my financial aid. I don't even know if my tax guy really even needs that or not.

I have an amazing tax guy. However, he raises his prices every single stinkin time I go in. I think I'm just going to look at the forms he did last year and try to do what he did. My taxes aren't that hard (Nothing like Jojo's ;)) and he charges me $130.

I plan on puttting the money in the wedding account. I'll just pretend I never got it =)

Bre, do you get loans or financial aid?  I found my tax stuff online but that was for the loans.  Last year they mailed the financial aid forms to me...unfortunately no more free money for me.

I did mine 2 weeks ago, last year and this year taxes and maybe next year taxes will all go to the wedding, which is why we have a $10k budget for everything. Sigh though I have 13 more months to plan and don't even have a venue. I'm sure once I get rolling it will be a bit or a relief. I'm also looking to find another tax person. My whole family has been to this guy for so many years but they are so packed all the time and it's about a 45min drive. But if anyone lives in Norwalk, CA and wants their info let me know.
