Honeymoon Spots!

ok so originally we were going to postpone the honeymoon until next summer because of finances but I just found out that my parents are transferring their free week at their timeshare to me so we can take 1 week and have a free condo and we get to pick from anywhere in the rpi book. (woohoo!!)

also... FI has some free flight vouchers from Southwest so that's good too.

Here's where I need some help.. does anyone have any suggestions of a good place in the continental US to honeymoon for a week in early september?  I haven't traveled much, of course my first choice would be Hawaii or Cabo San Lucas but that's going to have to wait.  Anything helps... TIA!!

Cabo is good in the summer.  You wanna stay closer to the pacific ocean vs the Caribbean because of hurricanes.  We're going to manzanillo mexico, which is further south of cabo =)

Ok, I just wrote out something and then re-read your post and saw the "continental us" part. lol

What about the outer banks in NC? A few of the girls on my month board are going there for their honeymoon.

I loved Miami but it defiantly is a party beach area if you are into that.  If not I also stayed a week in Sarasota and that was gorgeous and a complete different environment.  It was really nice and quiet, I even fell asleep laying out by the beach.  And the water was awesome!!  But I think I went in July, hurricanes weren't bad at all.

If you decide to go to Florida, keep in mind that it is hurricane season over there...they seem to have a hurricane every year...and the oil spill! They say they wont have the bullsh*t fixed until AUGUST! Even then, their efforts STILL might not work. Just imagine all of the oil that will be roam the waters then!!! Just keep that in mind when booking your honeymoon. If I were you I'd just stick with the west or east coast if you want a beachy honeymoon.

    p.s. F*ck BP.

I forgot about the oil spills! Dont go there, try something different.  What about NY, me and my fiance were thinking of going there but just keep in mind it is a lot of walking.

I got engaged in Sarasota and it was amazing! Others may be right about Hurricane Season. I also spent some time up in Rhode Island  and its beautiful up there but can get cold. If you wanna just keep it local Central California is so beautiful (Big Sur, Carmel, Montery) and also the Oregon Coast. Good Luck picking a spot!
