California-Inland Empire

Hello everyone!

So...I just want to introduce myself as I am brand new to this thing. I must say is so nice to find a website and message boards full of advise and tips!

I do want to ask if anyone has heard of or visited Lake Oak Meadows in Temecula? I have an appointment to see the venue tomorrow. Online it looks gorgeous, exactly what I want! I just hope it's as good in person!

Nice to meet all of you! =)

Hello and welcome! It is pretty dead around here on the weekends. I personally haven't been to Lake Oak Meadows but a girl that use to be on here got married there and her pictures were gorgeous! Make sure to come back and tell us what you think =)

I'm Bre by the way. My FI (fiance) and I are getting married May 29th, 2011 in Laguan Beach.

Tell us more about yourself. How long have you and your FI been engaged? How did he propose? Do you have any planning done yet?

Hi Bre! My name is Kellie. I will def let you know how it goes! I actually have three appointments set up for different venues tomorrow. There is Lake Oak Meadows, Whispering Oaks, and Glen Eagle. Busy day!

I have actually only been engaged a week! Last weekend I planned a big family dinner for my FI birthday. Both of our entire families were there and I was cooking all day. After dinner, he got down on one knee and proposed in front of our families. I had always said I wanted to be proposed to in front of my family because I am very close to them so it was perfect! My family got the whole thing on video. I am still on cloud nine!

Hey Kellie! Welcome to the board! The Knot can be really fun and addictive! The local girls are always nice and helpful, but when you move to the big international boards it's good to lurk for a while and get a feel for a boards. I am only adding this because sometimes they can be a bit harsh and I wish someone had warned me :) Have fun and I look forward to more posts.

    Hi Everyone!

My name is Mabel and my FI and are getting married in September.  Do you guys have any advise/ideas on local (Riverside, Corona, Redlands, etc) Florists and Bakeries?  We're getting married at the University of Redlands.  So far, everything seems to be coming along smoothly, and suprisingly I'm not stressed at all.  I'm also looking for affordable invitations.  Great to meet all of you!

    Hi Mabel,

My florists is in Ontario and my baker is in San Dimas (I had to have them).  I hear a lot of the girls on here mention Michelle's in Redlands.  You might get more responses if you add your own post.  btw- i was trying to get a hold of someone at the university of redlands for an apt to view the location for a ceremony and I never even got a call back so lucky you!

Hello!  I'm Kasi and I've been married for awhile now (2008).  I stick around though because I like this place...even if it is dead.

    Bakeries:
Michelles, Redlands - yummy cake but a little pricey
Martha Green's, Redlands - Not my fave but OK.
Ontario Bakery - Not good...plus they don't deliver to this area.

I went to a little hole in the wall place in Redlands.  The cake was amazing and super cheap.  They didn't charge me for delivery and my 3 tier cake was only $330 for 150 I believe.  it's called Weddign Cake and Supply in Riverside by Tyler Mall.

Those are the only places I sampled for cake.

Florists, I went to the Flower District in LA for my flowers.  Super duper cheap....but I did it myself as well.
