Cake? Did I Hear Someone Say Cake?

In honor of Dot and since we have not had a discussion regarding cake in, gosh, I do not know how long, I thought I would seek opinions on some cakes.

So, my wedding is in January in Texas.  Could be snow and/or ice, it could be a balmy 70 degrees, or anywhere in between.  I have chosen charcoal grey, navy and marigold as my colors for the wedding.  The first and the third are my front runners--I would change the first to be a grey color instead of brown.  What about flavors?  Different flavor for each layer?  Any flavor combos that y'all have had that you would not recommend?
