I got son an ereader for Christmas. Prior to that I got him a GC from Barnes and Noble (at that point I had no idea he wanted an ereader). Can he use the B&N GC for the new ereader which is not Nook or Kindle or whatever their brand of ereader is?
It's my understanding that it depends on the kind of e-reader AND the book itself. Some books are published only under the e-format that B & N uses, and others only use the other, and some have both. Most public libraries support the same thing that Nook has. (I have a NookColor, DH has an old-school kindle)
However, I have used amazon GCs for my Nook, and I just bought my son in law a gift card (B & N) for his nook, so I know those are compatible.
If you go the B & N nook site, you can view what format the book comes in, whether it's compatible or not, and work from there.

youth and skill! BS and brilliance only come with age and experience.
