When is our weight in?

Seems like lots of us have jumped on the weight bus - are we doing a weekly weight in to keep each other in check?  And if so, who wants to head up the weekly weight in post?

And so off topic - but we're talking food here - I'm checking out a caterer today.  Who wants cake?!  Sorry, couldn't resist.  :)~

Re: When is our weight in?

  • I'll give you cake <shaking fist @ Islandbeach>  Seriously, I ate several grasshoppers of the Keebler genus.  Help me now!!

I don't mind sharing my weight on a weekly basis.  It'd be awesome to do a buddy system type thing - esp if we pair with someone who lives in the same general vicinity.
  • I would love to do a weekly weigh in - with measurements?  Sometimes scales don't show loss but measurements do.  Let's pair up!
  • Oooooh, measurements are good too.  I hate loosing weight though, my tatas are the 1st to go - and I need all the help I can get. LOL!  How about hips, bust & belly button area - that's where mine needs to come off most!  :)  We can throw in the traditional waist line if ya'll want.

  • I usually measure - bust, waist, hips, arm (biceps), and thigh
  • My motivation is to keep remembering what I looked like in all the dresses I was trying on recently for a wedding I attended last week end.  I ended up wearing some old rag that I already had in the closet and it looked like pure shiit.  Luckily I have a pic of me and my son from that wedding and from the neck down I look like a kielsaba.

Monday a.m.'s are fine by me.  Anyone from Chicago area to buddy with?
  • Marrin,

I'm close enough to chicago , 3 hrs south.  OK to the 40Plus Board Knotties...I knew I would have to confess this sooner or later.  My profile says Indiana - which I"m not.  I litterally have to hide from my ex and his g/f.  So much so, that I'm one step away from getting a restraining order.  They hunt me by any means possible, the lastest being the internet, FB, classmates, you name it - they find me and send me threatening emails, which isn't bad considered they've physically stalked me.  So...only my & FI's initials show in my profile and my state is fabricated.  Hope ya'all can understand.  My divorce was not pleasant by any means and has been worse after the fact.  Lucky me!

[QUOTE]Marrin, I'm in KC, just a 30 minute plane ride away.  Poop.  But I must say, I LOVE, LOVE Chicago!  It's one of my favorite places to visit.

What's not to love about Chicago!?  Deep dish pizza, Chicago-style hotdogs, Lutz Bakery..........okay, off on my fat tangent. <img src="http://cdn.cl9.vanillaforums.com/downloaded/ver1.0/content/scripts/tinymce/plugins/emotions/images/smiley-wink.gif" border="0" alt="Wink" title="Wink" />  What's your favorite thing about the city, jcb?

So move your butt up here!  Actually I am in a western 'burb of Chicago but I lived in the city for many years and my son still lives in Wrigleyville.  I cannot convince H that city livin' is the way to go.  We're close - about 30 mins away from downtown but it's not the same as living there.

Oh you forgot the politics!  It's a sideshow

Off to work; you ladies decide amongst yourself re weigh-in's etc.  I'll go along with whatever

I think I read about your story on SW or one of the other communities here.  How awful!
  • I doubt anyone is up here in VT with me - but I am counting on you guys to keep me on task!
  • Looks like Monday AM is weight in  - measurements too, if you wanna share.   This gives me such HOPE!  I don't feel like I'm alone in the weight struggle.  Thank you Ladies for jumping on the bus!!!  Now lets get those butts moving!

  • public weigh ins.

I think I'd rather fight off a horde of zombies...

but ok - I'm in.  accountability might help me!

Marrin - I'm in chicago-land.  I'm in the far northwest 'burbs.
  • LMAO - zombies!

  • I was doing WW - but haven't been tracking and haven't been doing the meetings because I have been too busy - this will help.  If you don't see me on here - come find me!
  • OMG..ya'all are too funny about the measurement thing.  I don't dare post mine as my waist is- I will let you know if I lost this inch or that inch

  • How do you add the weight tracker thingy at the bottom?  Perhaps we could add that to our profiles with our goal amount to lose and our progress.  That way you just post on Monday morning and it has your amount lost.  Then you can talk about what your challenges for the week or a great successes.  We can make it Weigh-to-Go Monday.  Make something positive out of a blah end-of-the-weekend day.

Those that want to share measurements and actual weight can and those that don't have the tracker.

Jcb--Dallas is home to Needless Markups (err, I mean Neiman Marcus)...

I have never visited Chicago (don't thinhk running through O'Hare counts), it's on the list.  With the way y'all talk, it may get bumped up the list.

Also, there is a free site that you can join and count calories.  I have it in my iphone and it helps a lot.  On the website you can add friends, so that may be an idea too.

  • Lucy - Naperville!?  I'm in Wheaton.

Kelly - I knew you'd "weigh" in on this post.

I'm okay with posting my weight, but the measurements....eh, not so much and I'm not sure why.
  • I'm fine with posting weight on monday...not looking forward to it, but I am looking forward to encouraging each other!!!

@ shy...the first time is the hardest.  I was doing this with two co-workers a few years ago, and I was really apprehensive at our first weigh in, but once we all did it and the number was out there, we were all fine.

As for measurements - I usually don't measure but once a month.  The results are so minimal from week to week it wasn't worth it cause it wasn't very encouraging.

[QUOTE]In Response to Re: When is our weight in? : Hey former neighbor!  And someone else -- Kelly? -- said they're in the NW burbs...I used to live up there, too, in Lake Zurich. I'm sounding like that character on SNL...can't think of the character name but Kristen Wiig plays her.  The one who is, was, has, did everything the person she's talking to has.  Sigh.  I can't describe it well.  Actually, that particular sketch annoys me.

No no - when I say northwest - I mean FAR northwest!  (like Huntley area)  it truly is the fringe of "chicagoland" but I love the city, so I claim it!  Beats Rockford all day and twice on sundays!
  • Kelly - I used to live in Cary as well.  We bought our first house there when it was fairly small (and so was the house).

Lucy - I used to work sometimes at the NW Community Hospital's satellite location up there on Rand in LZ.  I don't think it was LZ proper but it was their mailing address.
