40-Plus Brides

Shoot! Just tried posting a "catch up"...

Oye!  I just wrote a good catch up post and clicked on something (who knows what??) and it disappeared.  *sigh*  Here's the Reader's Digest version ...

About 10 weeks after my father passed away, my mother moved into an assisted living residence.  The transition has been bumpy, with two trips to the e.r. in less than 4 weeks.  Ugh!  Although symptoms seemed to be cardiac-related, both cardiologists cleared her.  More doc visits to follow.

Marriage is going wonderfully.  We went out for Thanksgiving (nice, very nice), are planning a Christmas tree trimming party and have a honeymoon in Aruba booked for late January.

My job is going well.  The boy is doing well at college; we visited him in October.  The hubby is looking for a new job.

And you ???

  • Lisa50:  I've missed you!  So sorry to hear about your father's death and your mother's health problems.

Marriage is going well, and has now lasted over 10 Kardashians.  ;-)

NotFroofy is still looking for a job.  However, she's gotten tons of freelance work lately, which helps both the immediate financial situation and her marketability.

I'm up to nearly a year now on my exercise program.  I've ended up with bike rides of 12-20 miles last Thursday, Friday, Sunday, and Monday.  I haven't lost as much weight as I'd like, but I'm definitely stronger and healthier.
  • @LucyHC ... Congrats on getting married!  I'm so sorry to hear about Mr. Lucy's ankle/leg.  I am sending all kinds of wishes for a healthy and speedy recovery.

@2dBride ... Yeah, compared to little Ms. Kardashian, I've been married forever.  Congrats on getting into a groove with bike riding.  I stopped teaching Tae Kwon Do last spring and really need to find something else, soon.  I am happy to hear about NotFroofy's success in finding freelancing gigs; networking with those contacts will definitely help in the long run.  How's your son?

It's nice to be back and I'll be here as long as my circumstances allow.  I think that, when the eldercare consultant (prescribed by my doc) I've hired to help with my mom becomes fully engaged, that will be a tremendous help.

    (((HUGS))) all around!
  • Son is doing well.  They've bought a house, his wife is teaching in the local school system, and he's working for one of those agencies he can't talk about.  ;-)  All seem to be happy, and it's wonderful having him in the local area again.
