That was the difficult decision my mother and I had to make today. They want to do an angiogram to look for blockages in the heart. She is at risk because of some other issues but if there are blockages they would have to fix them before the mastectomy. The cardiologist felt that we shouldn't postpone the surgery for fear the cancer will spread.
I'm kind of uneasy but just felt the benefit of getting the cancer out was greater than the risk of heart attack. I have to believe her chances of surviving a HA while on the table are decent. They will be monitoring everything. Surgery is scheduled for November 8. Hopefully no "trauma" in the meantime.
