Why is Etsy like crack for me?

I swear, I cannot tear myself away from the #$@! place. At least 5 times a week I find myself looking through the wedding category. Today it was veils.

I HAVE a veil (a plain little birdcage I got for $17 there).
I HAVE a sorta fascinator thing I love (an vintage pearl shoe clip I got for £5 at a church basement sale years ago).

I keep looking at real brides in tea-length dresses who have birdcages and I think they are perfect. I keep looking at big flowers and feathers and I know they aren't my style--but they look so cute on those women....

Today's obsession was finding any evidence of women wearing glasses with veils. There are few at Etsy.

I don't know what I'm looking for. I just keep looking.

What's your crack?

Table numbers were my crack.  I was obsessed with finding something cool, preferably metal.  Found them on etsy, of course.  Along with a number of other things we used in the wedding.

[QUOTE]mem, if Etsy is your crack, I'm your new drug dealer.  PM me your e-mail address and I'll send you an invitation to Heartsy.  It's like Groupon and Etsy had a love child.

I think I need to check etsy out more.  I've only been over there a few times and it was because I clicked on a specific link of some sort!!!

This.  My wedding was September 2010.

I don't have any photos of the table numbers to post, yet, but here's a link to the guy's site:

I ordered mine with a Times New Roman font, since I was looking for something more contemporary.  They turned out well and I thought the price was very reasonable--less than a lot of paper product table numbers.

No, the table numbers just sat separately on the tables.  All my florals were in water, so that wouldn't have worked, but I see that he will put the numbers on posts, so you can use that option.

I tried to find a wedding on SMP that I had seen where the bride hand cut her table numbers from copper with a plasma cutter.  Unfortunately, I was so far along in planning I apparently didn't save it to my favorite weddings.  Seems like it was in CA, but I can't be sure.  I do think it was this year.  Her numbers had fairly substantial bases and used the Times New Roman Font, which is where I got that idea.

Hah!!  Found it. SMP tracks your comments and I commented on that wedding to ask about the font.  Here it is:

    Hope that helps.
