Yay for a new board for us 40+ Brides

Hi ladies, I have been posting on all the other boards, for months now, and it's nice to see a board dedicated to us. I just didn't relate to some of the topics ie college, being so young, or having our first baby together.

I am 43, and my FI is 31. This is my second marriage (20 yrs married the first time) and he has never been married. We are having a very large formal wedding and I am very excited, it's only 32 days away.

Hi there, Yeah I think so. I've done a lot of DIY, now it's a waiting game to see how many are coming, to see how many centerpeices, favors etc. I think we are on schedule though. Got marriage license yesterday. A lot of my DIY are on our website. I go in to see how my dress fits next Wed, after she altered it some. SO excited!

Yay Karen: time management skills, low drama, and still excited. Way to go! Glad to have you here--it's a great group that seems to have similar balance skills.

And a younger guy--hee hee! Mine is 10 years younger too. I struggled a bit with that at first, but it really just doesn't matter by this point.  (Now that's a reality that wouldn't have been possible in college--10 years younger partners)

Mine's five years younger--and takes great delight in reminding me of that at every opportunity.  Especially since I'll be "fitty" this year.  That should be interesting.

We are going to Maui, staying at Westin Maui Resort and Spa, for 10 days. I think we are ready. At least I am lol

 I am most looking forward to him seeing me for the first time in my dress, etc. My flower girls and I are arriving in a horse and carriage to the ceremony site at the end of the aisle. Should be romantic, as well as fary tale style

No, neither of us have been. We are excited. He works very hard and deserves this. The flower girls are my granddaughters. One is naturally mine, the other is by marriage. My daughter is 25 and a bridesmaid, and my sons, 18 & 16 are walking me down the aisle. He has never been married, no desire for kids, but loves mine.

Ya, like I mentioned, I will be arriving in the Horse drawn carriage. Our theme is Royalty / Regal. My FI even came up with the idea for he and his GM to wear satin sashes, over their black tuxes. (This was planned even before the Royal wedding, lol)
Here is my dress. The train is detachable and so I will take it off before I head upstairs for the Reception
