We picked up my ring today! We had it custom made so it took some time, but it was worth the wait. I was so excited last night when my FI told me that we were going to get it today. I was starting to believe that the day would never come.
The wife of the jeweler who created the ring also works in the jewelry store and when she saw it on my finger she said, "Oh, you're the one! Everyone who has seen that ring has wanted it." Yep, lucky me!
It's 14kt white gold, 7.12mm wide with a swirl motif. The center stone is a modern brilliant cut diamond, .54cts, with 14 full cut diamonds (7 on each side of the center stone) bezel/burnish set in the band for a total weight of .45cts T.W.
I'm not sure if I even want a wedding band because this ring is so wide in itself. If I do, it will be a narrow band with just swirls and no stones. I'm not sure how common it is to just do the one ring, but I know that some choose to go that route. Any opinions?
