Ohio-Northeast

reception location, small budget

I'm on a small budget but thankfully also have a small guest list, which is about 60 or 70.
Can you give some suggestions for reception locations? When I search online I find a lot of places are out of my budget ($500 rental, $25 a head) or just too large for me to justify renting.
We haven't booked anything yet but are planning on having the ceremony at the cultural gardens.
Thanks

Downtown locations cost more. Looking outside the city will get you the best bang for your buck. I'd say up to a 30 min drive between ceremony and reception locations is acceptable to guests. Some east side locations to check out include: Tizzano's party center in Euclid, Orchard Hills Party Center in Chesterland (BYOB and BYOcaterer), Casa di Borally in Richmond Hts, Pazzo's Grand Ballroom or the Knights of Columbus in Garfield Hts catered by Pazzo's.

On the west side, I know that Michaud's is around your price range, but it's in Strongsville. They can handle small parties.

Oh, another idea with a small guest list like yours is to check out some restaurants with party rooms. When you use those, you shouldn't have to pay venue rental fees and you can choose your menu for the group. Stancato's in Parma has a party room that holds up to 90, for example.

<div>My parents would love for us to get Married in Cleveland, considering that's where all our families live. I told them that if I cannot rent the ampitheater at OSU then we will get married in Cleveland. At the moment it looks like OSU is tightening up on it's rental policies and the coordinator told me to plan an alternate location "just in case" if I'm not planning on having the reception at one of their super, insanely priced banquet halls. </div><div>

You could rent a place in the Metroparks - and have it catered - either full catered or food made up/displayed/ then they come in after and cleanup.
I would also try Jilbert Winery - we are having our dinner reception there.  The max capacity is 72.  We are getting married May 22nd this year - so if you are interested, you are welcome to follow up with me after to see how it went/ask questions, etc.  (My email - yesican220@msn.com)
