Questions and lots of them! Help Please!!

Ladies - We live in Jacksonville FL and we just moved here so I need some help!
Does anyone have any suggestions for reception halls, photographers (the biggest one I have a fear about - I want those pictures to be perfect!!), and any ideas for me! We are wanting to do our wedding on a Saturday evening, hopefully in March. Any suggestions for cutting costs? We are military so I will be asking about discounts :)

I've never been involved in wedding planning, and I don't know where to start! My family lives in VA and the last wedding my mom planned was her own, 25 years ago.

Also - what are the point of escort cards? are they required? thanks!

I'm having my wedding at the Country Club of Orange Park.  Nick Poe is the manager there and he is AWESOME!  It's very reasonably priced too!  ($850 for reception and ceremony).  The Jax Firefighter hall is very inexpensive too.
I would by a really good book for planning, or hire one!

    Escort cards....who cares!!  lol
    Hope this helps!

I'm from Jax, but I'm getting married in St. Augustine and since I was never really looking for venues in Jax I can't be much of any help there. But my photographer is awesome! They were recommended to us by my sister's best friend. My sister was her MOH and they both just raved about them! La Dolce Vita Studio, they are a married couple that shoot together. They are on the higher end price wise I think, but if you want perfect pictures you'll get them! www.LaDolceVitaStudio.com Escort cards are if you are going to have people at specific tables but not a specific seat. A place card is what sits on the table at the seat that you have assigned for a guest. I will be doing escort cards, and I will have a table set up at the entrance with the cards. The card will have the guest's name and table number, then they take the card, go to the table, and choose their own seat. If you are having a small, casual, backyard wedding you probably don't need them, but if you are having a large ballroom reception you definitely need something to guide people on where to go...otherwise it would be mass chaos. There are so many cute things you can do with an escort card table, but here are some examples. Just look at pictures on TK and you'll get the idea: http://weddings.theknot.com/Real-Weddings/61225/detailview.aspx?type=3&id=61225&STOPREDIRECTING=TRUE&Style=Romantic&Wedding%20Details=Escort%20Cards http://weddings.theknot.com/Real-Weddings/33239/detailview.aspx?type=3&id=33239&STOPREDIRECTING=TRUE&Style=Luxury%20Weddings&Wedding%20Details=Reception%20Decor&pageindex=2

Hello! Check out Scarlettlovesstephen.com for photography her name is Scarlett Lillian and they just got married, they are amazing!! I searched for hours to find the perfect photographer and even interviewed a few and she was by far the best! If you need a place for invitation or escort cards go with Lara at Declerations botique she is super super nice and she hand makes all of her invites and everything for each bride and its super affordable! She can even do an "escort board" instead of the cards which is just another option and she can tie in with your invitations and stuff. Tell them Rebecca recommened them to you! :) Happy wedding planning!
