DOC??

Anyone have any thoughts on getting one??? What did you pay? Was it worth it to have one?  If so, do you have any recommendations. What kind of services do DOC typically provide?  I would prefer to pay under $500....is this feasible at all?

I'm starting to get a little panicky with the wedding about 4 months away and being all the way out in Colorado trying to put it altogether.  Thanks so much for your feedback, ladies! I hope that everyone is well!

I briefly looked into this...the cheapest I found was $650 so I ended up deciding not to get one.  Instead, we are making detailed instructions for people who have offered to help to do things like put up decorations, etc.  Our photographer and DJ have also offered to help things moving along so we're going to make an itinerary to share with them.  Hope that helps :)

Yeah, that definitely does.  I was thinking of doing something pretty similarly.  There is already someone at the church who is assisting with the ceremony and then my caterer said she would help coordinate things at the River House for the cocktail hour and reception.  And like you I am giving everyone a time line (Caterer, photog/video, DJ) but I just get worried like there should be one person pulling it altogether (even with the caterer helping, I was just worried bc there is going to be a lot to put together with the catering part alone).  Just nervous....but honestly, I'd rather save that $500/$600 you know?  Ehhhh decisions, decisions, decisions...haha! So have the RSVPs started coming in? I bet that is so fun!!!

Have you asked your venue for any suggestions?  I was able to get a manager of a sister property to be my DOC for a significant discount.  Her full time job is doing bookings and organizing events, but on the side, she acts as  a DOC.  Plus, she is familiar with the property and staff.

baileykm what venue were you married at? Dara Jeanne, you could ask Constance if she has any ideas! And yes RSVP's are coming in and I get giddy everytime I see one :)

    Haha! I am sure!!!

Yeah, I may.  I actually ended up emailing my caterer who told me from the get go that she would act as my doc for the reception and she said not to worry about a DOC at all.  We are going to meet a couple of times leading up to the wedding to help ease some of my worries.  FIngers crossed...I think that is going to work out! (And I WONT have to spend the extra money;) haha

Thanks for your feedback!  Have so  much fun with the RSVPs;)

PS - how did you address your invites??  Calligrapher/labels etc....the next thing I am trying to figure out! haha

baileykm thanks for the info :) When is your big day?

Dara Jeanne we ordered a custom stamp with our address from Rubberstampchamp.com for the return address, which we put on the back flap of the envelopes.  The stamp looked great, was cheap and didn't take very long to come in the mail.

As for the labeling on the front..my fiance started practicing calligraphy right after we got engaged and bought a pen so he did them all himself! But I believe you can hire people to do that, like Calligraphy by Cami http://theinspiredlist.com/company.php?id=157
