What do you think?

My fiance's mom found a great dress for the wedding and ordered it a week ago. It coordinates perfectly with the bridal party. Then my mom found her dress today and it happens to be the same color...The length and formality is the same but the dresses are completely different styles. Is it ok for them to wear the same color? My mom is willing to find a new dress if not, I was just wondering what you all thought.

There's absolutely nothing wrong with them wearing the same color :).  Both my mom and MIL wore black, and I think it looks great in the pics.

If they both like their dresses it doesn't matter.

I see absolutely nothing wrong with it as long as your mothers don't mind.

I'd say it has to do more with how the mothers feel about looking the same. Technically, the mother of the bride should have found her dress first and then communicated to the other mother(s) about the style and color so they wouldn't look the same. So, if your mother doesn't mind looking similar to the mother of the groom, she should definitely get the dress. But really, she should have gotten priority on what she wants to wear.
