Castillo de San Marcos

Has anyone been to a wedding, had their wedding, or is going to have their wedding at the Fort in Saint Augustine???They have availability on my date, but I'm not from the area (i'm in Tampa) and I've never been to the area where you are allowed to hold the ceremony. I'd love to hear pros, cons and see pics if anyone has them (google is no help at all)TIA!

I don't have any experience with weddings at the fort, but I did take some pictures there the day after.  It makes for a great backdrop! :)  PIB

I have not been to a wedding there, but I'd say probably the main downside would be the facilities, that were put in place approximately 40 zillion years ago. That said, it is a gorgeous site for pictures. We had our engagement shots there (see front page of my bio).

Hi... I've never posted before.  I mostly look at the boards for inspiration.  But I read your post and thought I could be helpful because I'm a Park Ranger at the fort.  If you want to have you wedding here you need to call the fort and ask for Marlon, he is the one who issues the wedding permits.  His number is 904-829-6506 x 245.  You should know that we only allow weddings on Saturday evenings (I believe the ceremony can not begin sooner than 5:30 pm)  The permit fee is $85 plus a fee for Park Staff to be on site for the event.  All totaled it will cost you about $200.  We don't provide anything, though, except the location.  You would be responsibe for chairs, set up ect...  And there is a designated area for weddings which is on the north lawn near the seawall.  It is a gorgeous location on the water, with the fort in the background, and far enough back that you are away from the street.  It really is a nice location, at a good price- the only drawback would be the limitations on time and location where you can have the service.  I hope that this helps.
