Update on Gold chargers

Hiya Ladies,I did some searching and the cheapest I can find gold chargers is at Crafts, Etc. or Efavormart at $1.99/each.  I have a few feelers out to girls who have posted some for sale on various websites as well.  It looks like GatorD and I might be splitting, but I wanted to put another call out there to any girls who might want to use gold chargers to save a little more on the cost.  We will likely be needing around 130 or so.  My wedding is Oct 3, 2009 and I think Gator D is next Spring.  If you're in Tallahassee, Jacksonville, or Gainesville, I will be happy to hand-deliver the chargers after my wedding to save everyone on shipping, too.

I found chargers for sale for 1.99 a piece w/ free shipping from a chick in jacksonville. I am needing gold chargers for my wedding, and will have roughly 114- 130 depending on if she has the extras. My wedding is October 31st in jacksonville. My question is, if we split, what happens when the last knottie's wedding happens? What would we do with them?

*Also to add, I've heard that biglots has gold and silver charger plates for 1.00 a piece. I've been checking my local big lots to no avail, but thought you other FL knotties may have some luck finding them.

My thought was whoever gets them last can post them on here for another bride to use or sell them or whatever.  Even if I can't keep them and recoup the cost by selling them, it still costs me much less than renting them to split them with you girls.  Another alternative is if I buy them at full price $2/each and then sell them to the next girl at a discount and so on.... Thanks for the tip on Big Lots!  I will check them out ASAP and see if I can find any there.

Hello again, I have some good news!  Initially when I contacted my rental company, they were going to charge me $2.50 per charger to rent them.  After doing quite a bit of research on the internet, I found there were rental companies in other states that were renting these for 40 or 50 CENTS!!  I was actually going to call and find out if these out-of-state companies might consider shipping.   However, I called my rental company back, told them what I found, and they called me back today to say that they would rent me the chargers for 50 cents a piece!  I asked them if I could pass the word along and they said absolutely!  So, the company is called GT Party Rentals.  They are out of Jacksonville, but I believe they also have a facility in GA.  I have all good things to say about them.  They have negotiated EVERY single price with me, including the delivery charge, without flinching (what other vendor do you know that would negotiate from $2.50 down to 50 cents?)  They are also running a special from now until August 31 if you pay your deposit in cash, they will give you a 20% discount on chairs and other equipment and a 10% discount on linens.  If you pay the deposit by CC, it's a 15% discount on equipment and I think 5 or 10% on linens.  I asked and they also promised to honor the 50 cent price on the chargers to anyone who contacted them as long as the chargers are available for your date.  So, fortunately or unfortunately, I won't be needing to purchase any chargers anymore, but I highly suggest you contact GT Party Rentals.  If you are not in the Jax area, try negotiating with your rental company and use this as an example.  The worst they can say is no.

That's awesome! I'm in Jax, so I'll contact them as well. I need chairs too, so I'll see if they can help me. Do they have a website by chance?
