Vent : Frustrating week - long

This week has sucked. To top it off this is my passport story. This is a long crappy and probably WAY over winded story, but I'm still kinda of PO about what happened yesterday, so here it goes.- Went to CVS, waited a small eternity, paid 18.00 for 4 pictures. - Drove to judicial annex listed on website, was told it was moved. By time we would make it to the right place, the office would be closed.-Next morning, Drive to new place. Get greeted by a snotty woman in her late 50's. She advised that the pictures weren't acceptable and would be rejected. She then grabbed the paper work and said she was going to mail them off anyway and we would just have to "wait and see".- She can't answer any of my questions and refuses to call anyone else, or ask anyone else who might know the answer. They're not hard questions- Just  "if it's rejected, how long will it take to find out? How long does it usually take to correct a rejected passport? Will I get my original passport back / FI's birth certificate back?  She just kept saying "I don't know". So I said no, I'm taking the stuff back and I'm getting the pics redone. I can't risk it getting rejected and being held back. I got irritated and frustrated w/ her because of her pisssss poor attitude.- Go to CVS again. Get new pics taken. They have to retake my picture like 16 times and then they want to charge me for them. - Call a manager, he handles.-Go back to courthouse, new pics in hand. End up getting helped by another person that has already been "tipped off" about us coming back. New chick ends up losing my license for roughly 10 minutes. She tells me that I never gave it to her, which I refute. I am now dumping everything out of my bag, pockets, ect and I'm starting to freak out. She then tells me that she can't process my application w/ out it, and I just look at her ::::: o.O:::::::: and say, it was right here, you just had it! She replied, and I qoute "Girl, Don't look at me like that!" - A few minutes later she finds my DL. ON HER FREAKING DESK. and she never appologized once.I'm so over JOYED that this is the exact same office we have to come back to in a few weeks to get our marriage license. YAY!!

What a witch!! You definitely did the right thing getting newspics redone, and glad you talked to the manager and was not charged. It's sad that people have to be so rude!!

Wow! I'm so glad we didn't have to go through an ordeal like that to get our passports. You will get your birth ceritficates back, we got ours in the mail a few days before the passports came. We went to the Post Office for our passports and they took our pics there. I hope it all works out for you.

WOW, I'm so sorry you had to go through that! For the record, when I went to get my passport, I'd had our corporate photogs do my passport photo to specifications for free, then took them in. The woman also told me the photos weren't good enough and acted like my face had to fit exactly in the tiny circle and my hair had to fit exactly in the big one. When I said, "No, it doesn't, it says right there it can be anywhere between the two circles," she about had a fit and told me if I wanted to get my passport, I had to pay her to take my photo over and it would take another half hour.Fast forward 1.5 years when I had to get a new one with my new name. Took out the old "rejected" photos, sent them in, presto changeo, new passport comes back, pictures were just fine. You have to think, once the people get your photos and information ,they're not going to go through the hassle of mailing them back to you and rejecting your application--they're just going to do it.

Geez, what is wrong with people? Sorry you had to go through that. Where are you getting married? Is it possible to go to another location to get your marriage license? You should try to avoid that place as much as you can.

Yeah. These two women were crazy.  Especially the one who told me not to look at her like that!  I couldn't believe it. I was *almost* stunned speechless. There are two courthouses in my county. One in the "city" and one in the "county", I'm afraid that since we're getting married in the county that we'll be unable to go to the city courthouse for the license. I work for the city, so maybe I can finagle it? I'll gladly go there to keep from dealing with the county courthouse. Thanks ladies for allowing me to vent!
