ok this is going to sound crazy but...

My FI wants a  mini wedding cake made out of chicken nuggets for his grooms cake. This is the only thing he wants and hes paying for it. We went to Tastry Pastry but they said they couldnt do it. Any suggestions?

Or don't do it at all.  Please.  Men get a lot of incredibly tacky ideas in their head about wedding and sometimes they are okay to roll with and hide discretely, but this one that I would 100% put your foot down on.  Unless you're serving happy meals as favors.

Maybe you could serve this one at the rehearsal dinner.  That is kind of weird idea.

Well...you could check w/Publix since they carry both chicken AND cakes...but this does not look appetizing in my head.

If that's all he's asking for go for it! I agree, check with Publix, they should be able to come up with something. If you're having a cocktail hour you could have it then.

LOL...ok...it doesn't look appetizing in Navy's PIP either! ;-) Do it at cocktail hour or at the rehearsal like others have said. Ohhhh...these boys.

I know he's crazy but he really wants it and won't stop talking about it and I was more than likely planning on serving it either at the rehearsal dinner or the cocktail hour. Not sure yet. I am not too worried about being tacky though because its not like our family is super high class or something. I am sure they will probably all think it is hilarious. I do agree that it sounds unappetizing though. I know I won't be eating it.

If it makes him happy it will be cute. I'm sure the guests will think it's a funny quirky thing for FI. :)

Well...Navy's picture is completely unacceptable. I just can't figure out a way that it could be done to actually look like a wedding cake. That picture is a mess! It wouldn't go over very well w/me either...but if he's excited and it's the ONLY thing he's asked for and it is HIS grooms cake I can see why she's having a hard time telling him no. If it's done nicely and actually looks like a wedding cake they might be able to pull it off during coctail hour as a stationary hors d'oeuvre. Skip the stupid topper and dress the table up nice. Put some different dipping sauces in nice dishes around it. I think that's as good as it's going to get.

you are a better woman than I am. I would tell him you are nuts and there is on way. FI is obsessed with cheeseburgers so we are having a late night snack to incorporate that. why dont you have chicken nuggets for a late night snack so he can have his chicken nuggets but in a more pleasing way

Maybe you could talk to Chick Fil A? They'd probably get a HUGE kick out of doing that. Personally, I think it's weird and a typical Boy Wedding Request, but if you don't mind, why not. Of course it will be cold by the time anyone gets to it.

Actually, I dont think this will be difficult to do at all! All you need is a little creativity to get it done. : ) - Try going to a craft store to find various sized circles of foam, like the tiers of a wedding cake. - Glue the foam together in the shape that you want - Attach toothpicks throughout the foam cake to skewer chicken nuggets on - Attach chicken nuggets to toothpicks, add a topper, and viola! Grooms cake ala McDonalds! Try buying doubles of the foam and testing it out first to see what adjustments you might need to make for the big day. When the wedding day comes, have the foam part of the cake already built, toothpicks and all, and send your wedding planner and/or bridesmaide/trusted family member to grab fresh chicken nuggets and attach them to the cake for you. Make sure that they're there with you for the test run so that they know just how to do it! Good luck! : )
