New with Questions about Destin Area

Hello! I am new here and in the beginning of the planning stages. We are thinking about getting married in the Destin area. We traveled there several times a year, and absolutely love the area! On our last trip to Destin, we stayed at the Emerald Grande and absolutely loved it! We were thinking about possibly having a reception there and staying there. We are both Catholic and want to get married in the Catholic Church and have the reception at a nice place in the Destin area. We have gone to Corpus Christi Catholic Cathoic Church on Beach Drive when we go to Destin. We were thinking possibly that Church, but does anyone know of any other Catholic Churches in the area? I was curious if anyone could give me any suggestions for reception sites and if there are any other Catholic Churches around Destin? Also, if anyone had some pictures of a wedding in the a Catholic Church in Destin, a reception at the Emerald Grande, or at any other places around there that you suggest, I would love to see them. We are planning on making a trip down there in the next month or so, but we want to have some ideas before we go so we can check out some places. Thanks to everyone for your help!

Hi and welcome to the board! I live in Pensacola and I've only been to Destin a couple times so I can't name any churches for you. We've had a few Destin brides on the board this past summer. Most of the girls rented a beach house for the ceremony/reception space.

Welcome!  I'm not much help with Destin stuff, but just wanted to pop in and say hi.

Hey! Alex and I are 5 months out from our wedding, and are having our reception at the Emerald Grande on March 12. The reception hall is gorgeous, and we actually had the opportunity to peek in on it fully decorated for a wedding tomorrow. It was gorgeous! I am, of course, a little biased. And we're having our wedding on a friday; that cut the cost of the reception site nearly in half. Something to consider? We're getting married at the Emerald Grande on the beautiful balcony, so I haven't researched any churches. Sorry!

Thanks to everyone for saying hello and for your input! The beach house idea is a good idea, I'll have to look into that as well. I bet the reception was beautiful at Emerald Grande. We saw 2 weddings take place last time we were there out on the wedding pavilion, and it was beautiful, we just both want to get married in the church. Unfortunately, we didn't get to see what the reception hall looked like, but just by staying there and the way everything is so nicely and elegantly done, I'm sure it's just breath-taking! We will be going down there in about a month and talk to people and see what we can figure out, I was just hoping to get some ideas before we head down there. Thanks again for all of your help and happy planning to you all!
