Chocolate Candy

I'm making chocolate hearts for my favors.  How early do you think I could make them?  I'm getting the molds in December, so anytime after that.  I just don't want to worry about making them 2 weeks before the wedding.

I would be really careful making those in advance. Are you using the chocolate disks sold in the candy-making aisles (like in walmart?) The issue is going to be how they are stored until the wedding. I wouldnt make them more than a month in advance. Also you might check the chocolate you will be using as a guideline for how long they will stay fresh.

Make sure you use a good quality chocolate....like hershey, godiva or nestle.  you should be able to make them about a month in advance with no problem.

I was planning on using the discs that you can get at Michaels.  Do they not taste good?

I've never had them as candy, but they make a pretty decent fondue. :)

In my experience, if you use good quality chocolates, they should last 2 months (I kept them in saran wrap and air tight container). HTH.
