Wines for the wedding

Tell me the wines you used for/are going to use for your wedding. We started w/the Cabs tonight. We're looking at doing a heavier and lighter red and then a dry and sweeter white. We'd like to stay at or below $8.00 a bottle. Come on winos...share those rec's!

I'm a big fan of Blackstone Cab. It is usually 9-10 a bottle, but every once in awhile it goes on sale for $6.99. The merlot is not so hot though.

My in-laws are buying our wines. They got 337 for the cab, I think it's usually around $15 a bottle, but he got it on sale plus bulk discount for around $10. I don't know about the others yet.

Thanks girls. Blackstone is my "go to" wine for a reasonably priced pretty decent Pinot. We also get a 10% case discount so it could be closer to $9. Plus, we might be able to get a decent Chardonnay for $6 or $7 giving us more to budget for a red. That was just a ballpark number. I'm keeping my eye out for sales too.

"Constra y Torro" was recommended by the guy at ABC. They are larger bottles (1500 ml, double size normal bottles) and about $9 each. Im going to try it this week but he said its the most popular budget wine for weddings.

The only wine I have tried and liked was "relaxed reisling" (sp) and they have hang tags for 1.00 off at abc and walmart right now.

I like smoking loon.  My fave is pinot noir.  I think its in the $11-13 range. I don't know if that helps.  Jackie
