Ribault Club vs. River House for ceremony and reception

This is my first post, so I'll introduce myself: my name is Mandi, my finace is Mark, and we are getting married in the North FL area in January 2012 (probably).

I'm currently trying to pick a venue, which is difficult considering I live in California. My mom lives in the area, though, and has been visiting sites and sending pictures for me.

I think we have it narrowed down to the Ribault Club or the River House. If anyone made a decision between these two, may I ask how you decided? They both look beautiful, but have different advantages and disadvantages. I am especially concered with distance from the airport and hotels.

Also, I know I will have to bring in linens and tableware to the Ribault Club. For people who have done so, was it a huge pain? And any guesses on the cost for 100 people/10 tables?

    I don't know much about the Ribault Club, but I'm having my reception at the River House in less than two months. Constance, the event manager there, is very helpful, and they have packages that include linens.

    As far as the distance from the airport, if guests hope right on 95, it's not too bad. There are plenty of hotels around St. Augustine. We live in Jacksonville but told St. Augustine for our wedding because we feel like it provides such a cute atmosphere and it's very walkable.

    I second Lou's opinion on the River House, my FI and I are getting married there in June.  Constance is extremely helpful and can help take care of a lot of those "small details" (such as linens, tableware, glassware etc...) as they are included in the price.  I have not seen the Ribault Club in person but I have heard it is also very beautiful.  I would say that the Ribault Club is probably 15-20 minutes from the Jax airport, while the Riverhouse is about 40 minutes.  Although, as Lou mentioned above, the drive is about a 30 min straight shot down 95.  Once you get off at the exit it is about 10 minutes away.  I know I am a bit bias, but I would definitely recommend the River House!!! ;)  If you are on facebook and "like" their page you will be able to see pics from other weddings that have taken place there.  Good luck in your search!

    Thank you, LouWho and Dara! My mom has seen both and also prefers the RIver House. I appreciate your posts, and hopefully I can make this decision very soon!

    Ribault Club is beautiful!! It can hold a lot of people inside and outside. I am using the whole club and the outside. I chose between the two and I am very happy with the decision.
