Hello and venue suggestions

Hello- I'm newly engaged and new to the Jacksonville area and love all of the advice I've found on here so far! The FI and I are getting ready to look at some venues this weekend. Has anyone had an experience at the Casa Marina in Jax beach? And are there other suggestions for places that might/probably have openings in April 2011?

Hi & Welcome, here's a link to reviews from Past Knotties from Jacksonville. I am from Pensacola, so I am not much help but there are lots of great girls here.

Welcome! I know a couple who had their reception at Casa Marina and loved it...but it was 5 years ago. They were able to rent the entire hotel out for their guests but they told me they don't think that's allowed anymore. The space is lovely and so close to the beach!

We are getting married in St. Augustine, which I recommend for the atmosphere :)

Were getting married at The Winterbourne inn in Orange Park. Heres the link

Or right next door is Club continental.

Both of these places are owned by a family. They are both on the river, very beautiful. The Winterbourne is cheaper than Club continental.

    Hope this helps :)

We planned a BEAUTIFUL wedding at this location! The staff was extremely flexible and the ceremony and reception was so personal!   As mentioned above, the entire facility is seldom rented out anymore, but guest rooms can be reserved for a cheaper rate.
I'm sure your day will be beautiful!
    Other suggestions for nearby venues:
Ponte Vedre at the TPC Sawgrass, The Renaissance Resort  at the World Golf Village, or the Casa Monica Hotel in historic Saint Augustine.
Good luck! We'd be happy to help you!

I've done two weddings at the Casa Marina! Love it! Very easy to work with and beautiful atmosphere. (I'm a vendor, btw, if you're wondering about more than one wedding, lol) Oh, I also love the Winterbourne and Club Continental. Very fun there too. Are you looking for a beach atmosphere?
