Jax Beach Wedding Ceremony

My FI and I were planning a destination wedding in the Bahamas, but recently decided that we want to get married sooner so our plans have changed a lot. He's in the Navy, going to school in South Carolina. So we're on a really tight budget, and pretty tight on time. We'd like to have the ceremony sometime in October. What I'm wondering is, has anyone ever had their ceremony on the beach in Jacksonville? I'm not sure where would be the best place to do it. We also need a very budget friendly place for the reception. Any help is really appreciated, thank you!

I have seen a few near the pier. As for a reception - budget wise a Shriner's, or Elks club, those type places seem to be very reasonable. Of course, you could contact a couple of the hotels right there on the beach to ask about their room rentals. Many in the area are $200-$500 for 4 hours for the large meeting rooms. Let me know if you need help with photography as well.

Try the Majestic Room in Jax Beach for reception. Its pretty reasonable and includes all tables/linens and I believe they can even do centerpieces.

Try Ocean Breeze Conference Center... it's at Mayport Naval Base.. right on the beach.  That's where I'm getting married.  Not sure what kind of availability they have left for October but they are VERY reasonable.

There's no way you'll get into the Oceanbreeze in such sort notice unless their small banquet room is available or maybe a Friday or Sunday.  They have done even more upgrades and have new outdoor furniture for their renovated patio area.  Very modern and awesome!!

Any of the piers would be a great spot, and available to the public.  I just saw a wedding invitation at Things Very Special (they did a DIY type invitation, just professionally done) where the wedding was on the Jacksonville Beach Pier.

As for receptions, I'd call the condo's around the area to see if they rent out their "club house."
