I originally wanted my venue to be on Lake Erie, but we never found a place that fit our needs and honestly it was not easy finding places on the lake to hold a wedding.

The venue we booked is Manakiki in Willoughby Hills. Gorgeous outdoor ceremony location, reception can be indoors or out and catering by sammys. I am really happy with our venue. http://www.sammys.com/manakiki.shtml

Here are some options to consider that are on Lake Erie:

-The Lodge at Geneva on the Lake
    -Rose Cafe, Lakeview in Lorain
    -Sawmill Resort in Huron
    - Shoreby Club (must have a member sponsor you and it's very expensive)

You may also have better luck if you look in Marblehead or the Erie Islands.

    Good Luck!

Not Lake Erie, but Coe Lake in Berea has a gazebo and nearby pavilion that would make for a nice wedding backdrop. Both are rentable thru the city of Berea, but you don't have to be a resident.

Also, in Hudson (south of Cleveland), Hudson Springs Park has a picturesque lake with picnic pavilion that would work for a summertime wedding.

Good luck! There aren't many options right on Lake Erie.

for another option for outdoor but not on the lake is our venue, club hillbrook, in chagrin falls. i absolutely love it there. it's a huge tudor mansion in the middle of a forest with outdoor ceremony/reception. pics/info in my bio!

i have also been to a wedding at rose cafe as mentioned above (which would be right on the beach) and you can have your ceremony outside, but the reception is indoors (although there is a large deck/balcony facing the beach that is attached that your guests can go out to). the food was great, and it was pretty inside. the only thing is that it's pretty small (i think 150 limit? but it gets packed!)

There have been some great recommendations so far.  Another "lake setting" but not Lake erie  is Lake Forest CC in Hudson.  Depending on size of the wedding there is a patio for the reception or multiple indoor options, while there is a ceremony location with a lake backdrop.

The Lakeside Chatauqua near Lakeside/Marblehead, Ohio, on the Peninsula has a beautiful gazebo that they use for outdoor weddings.
