Wedding Coordinator and Guest Accomodations Question

Hello everyone (again!)

I'm planning my June 2013 wedding at Bentleys on the Bay in Santa Rosa Beach, FL. At this venue, I am required to have a day of wedding coordinator (which is $875). I'm wondering if I should pay the extra money and hire the full service wedding coordinator ($2450).
Do you ladies have an opinion (positive or negative) about full service coordinators? We are planning our wedding from Cincinnati, OH.

Also, I would like to give my guests options on where to stay in the Seaside, FL area so I don't want to rent a group of cottages or condos. I'd like everyone to pick their place based upon their own budget so more people can come to the wedding. Would it be easier for me to do my own research and put some websites (such as www.vbro.com, etc) on my wedding website, or contact a travel agent for my guests to work with?

Thank you all so much!!

Re: Wedding Coordinator and Guest Accomodations Question

  • I am getting married at Bentley's in a few months.  I had the same question and decided against it at first.  However, once it actualy got closer and I realized that the day of coordinator also included the bridal suite, I decided to do it.  It really isn't as bad as you think to plan things on your own.  You end up wanting to have a say in every detail anyway.  You have PLENTY of time to plan and I think you would be happy with the money you saved.  I am looking forward to leaving my big deal to Laura, but have been fine with the planning along the way.

Good luck!! Hope this helps!  :)
