Catering own reception?

I was wondering if anyone has catered their own wedding reception?  My soon to be hubby is a chef and has catered for ALOT of people before.  He is confident that he can cater for about 150 people.  So has anyone done that sort of thing before and if so what should I know about ahead of time?  We are working on a budget so it makes alot of sense and my fiance is really looking forward to making what he really wants.  TIA!!!

Honestly, I think anyone in the wedding party, immediate  family and definitely the bride and groom should NOT be “working” on the wedding day.   If he wants to maybe do some food prep in the days before  and have a mini-crew for the day of the wedding – OK, but I would not recommend the groom be doing anything but be present on  the wedding day.  JMHO

I agree...........I think he should get together a group of his "chef friends" and cater the menu to stuff he wants that he knows THEY can pull off and have them do it as a gift to you guys (you still pay for the food and throw them a nice tip to boot) so basically hubby gets to have his cake and eat it to...so to speak!

My friends husband is a chef as well- and he had friends do it, that he trusted, pretty much at cost.  He picked what he wanted, but didn't have to do any of the work.
