RSVP number of people

Hi, ok i need advise on this one,
i got a RSVP, and i invited mr, and mrs. and they sent the invitation with number of people 3, instead of 2, and they put both of their names and their 11 year old kid, which (sorry was not invited). So what should i do? and how?
SHould i just count one more head in my party, i'm on a budget, and i'm still waiting for a friend to RSVP, i hope she understands that only she and her husband are invited 'cause she has 4 kids, and i'm afraid the same thing may happen with her. This is so unconfortable, some people get very upset like if you don't want my kids, you don't want me...i don't want anybody to take that attitude, and there will be kids at my party but those are the kids of my family who is traveling all the way from NY and ofcourse can't leave the kids behind.
HELP!!!!

    Call them and tell them that sorry, but the child wasn't invited.

    I agree with Navy - If they get offended, just state that unfortunately, you are unable to accomodate due to budget / headcounts. I am not sure if you know of any babysitters - Maybe you can suggest some names to them.
