alt photo booth

i know i'm going to sound like a sales rep for polaroid, but i just wanted to share my findings:

if anyone is looking to do a photobooth at your reception, but can't afford the extra money for one... i looked into the "instant" camera thing (polaroids, fujifilm instax, etc.). I bought the Polaroid Pogo portable printer, the one with the ZINK paper, to test out the quality of the prints and THEY AREN'T BAD. I printed both pics from my cellphone (bluetooth capable) and from my regular digital camera. The pics from my digital camera were definitely better than from my cellphone, still not the quality look of regular digital prints, but I think for the price and for the fun of it, it's worth it. The paper also has a peel-off back that you makes the picture a sticker.

the printer itself I got from Target for $60, it comes with 10 sheets of paper, and I just saw on Amazon that you can get 80 sheets for ~$28. Plus, the way I see it, you're using a digital camera anyway, if you want to reprint the shots for a scrapbook or guestbook or photo album, you can still do it cheaper than if you were to spend hundreds of dollars on a photobooth.

Whew! I just wanted to share that info... I've been reading reviews for the Pogo printer for awhile and was getting lots of mixed signals and wasn't sure if it even worked with my camera. I'm glad I just went and bought it and got it over with. Now I know what can work for me since I wanted a photo guest book. I figured I could post on here in case anyone else was considering the poloroid approach.
