Sedona Brides - Cake Question

Hello! This is my first post here. Planning a May 1st, 2010 wedding in Sedona. I just got a quote from a Sedona bakery that was WAY over our budget. I was quoted $480-$600 for a cake for 40 people. I know fondant and fillings are pricey, but Wow! She gets rave reviews, I know, but I'm not willing to spend $12-$15/pp for the cake.Have any of you used a Flagstaff bakery or cake artist? I saw Caked Bakery online. Are there others i should check out?

I live in Flagstaff (work in Flag and in Sedona) and can tell you, there are really one two shops in town.  Ted Dee's Cake Box and Caked.  Having been to both, I love Caked so much better (they taste better and they are much nicer to work with!!0 The lady in Sedona is good, but honestly, a bit over priced - Caked is just as good.  Marianne Ferris and Fenevieve Konves are the owners of Caked and super sweet ladies.  Thier # is 928 522 9195 (and they are not open on Monday's)There is a link to their website on my FI's website www.garrettdauphars.com If you need anything else from the area, please don't hesitate to reach out.

sedona cake couture is way overpriced and my experience w/ her was that she was too busy to really care about the customer - she is big into contests, etc. sedona sweet arts was amazing!! it was reasonably priced and donna joy was very accomidating and nice.... i recommend her highly! ps - if you are looking for an officiant, suzanne loo-mccoy is amazing!!

Thanks to both of you for the great info. The quote I got from SSA was about the same, so I am going to check out Caked when we go up there in a couple of weeks.I also need recommendations for flowers, so I'd love a referral if you have one. Thanks!

Just wanted to update to let everyone know that we met with Joy at Sedona Sweet Arts & she worked with us to design the cake we wanted and get us close to what we had budgeted. Her cake is sooo delish & she makes her own fondant. I am not usually into cake because not much of it is good. Joy is awesome at what she does and I know the cake will taste even better than it looks! We couldn't stop eating the samples, it was that good.I had sent an email requesting more info & included pics of what we wanted to Caked in Flagstaff and didn't hear back from them. I sent the email about 5 days ago.If there are any other Sedona brides out there reading this, where are you having your reception?
