More Venue questions

I am still hunting for our perfect reception venue. We went and looked at the Japanese friendship garden this week and I am pretty sure I loved it. Has anyone been to an event there? I would love anyone's opinion on the place. We will be having close to 200 guests and I am worried about the space. We also looked at the Irish Cultural Center, Liked it but not as much. Thank you for any and all comments.

I LOVED the JFG. Have you spoken with Diana there yet? She'll be able to tell you all you need to know, space contraints, etc. There's a tea house you can freshen up in before the ceremony, new restrooms being built, and it's just so gorgeous there. Our reception was 5 minutes away at Stoudemire's Downtown, but there are quite a few options near by for receptions, including hotels, museums and other restaurants. We looked briefly at the Irish Cultural Center, and we knew it would be too small for our wedding, so I am pretty sure it would be too small to house a 200-person reception, unless you did a standing cocktail reception with no dance floor.

I knew it was right for us when we saw it too.  I knew all the places/styles of places we didn't want, so when we went there we both feel in love!  My wedding is October, but so far so good.  Diane has been super sweet and easy to work with, and I think everything will be great!  I'm sure the pictures will be fantastic too because there are so many beautiful places in the garden.  Celsius-you are all over your photographers website and looked just beautiful-by the way!I'm not sure about the number of guests, my wedding will be very small around 25-30 guests so that would be the only thing I would make sure would work.  Other than that, I would say go for it! Good Luck!
