Photographer Suggestions?

Who are you using for your wedding photos? I have looked at a few different photographers but am just getting started and curios to see who you all picked. I thought I found one I really like, but of course he is twice s much as everyone else I have seen. Any suggestions on people would be greatly appreciated.

I am so sorry to do this...I know its not what this board is for, but my FI is a wedding photographer for all over AZ (we live in Flagstaff). If you are looking for someone photo-journalistic in style that beleives that every bride deserves the best on her wedding day, his website is www.garrettdauphars.com and his phone number is 602 300 3291.  (just don't call August 15th since we are getting married that day LOL) Good luck to you!!!

Amy, I know you're a legit bride, and I don't want to discourage you from posting on the boards as a bride, but if you've been around, you know that vendors soliciting business aren't allowed on the boards. I don't want to be the bad guy, because I like you, and  haven't said anything up to this point (again, because you've been around posting AS A BRIDE) but you have to watch that. We've called out vendors before for fewer posts advertising their businesses, and other knotties have been banned in the past when they weren't even advertising their businesses. No offense, just keeping things on the up and up. :)

We met with 12 photographers and booked with Hollye Schmacher- www.hollye.com. She was by far the best photographer (as well as the best overall person) we met with. She is not inexpensive, but photography was the most important vendor to us and we are so happy with our decision! If you are looking for someone a little less expensive, let me know a budget and I can see if I can recommend someone else.

www.thevisionyard.com Tim and Shauna are amazing. They brought a third photographer to our wedding for no extra charge. They are also not inexpensive, but to us, photography was the absolute most important thing so we budgeted everything else accordingly. Having one very talented photographer is great, but having 3 ensured that we had every important moment captured. Check out how our pictures turned out, I don't think I need to say more :)http://tinyurl.com/l7cfvn More here: http://tinyurl.com/nnu2p6

I was very happy with our photographer!  We used LaTricia Soucy with Marriott Photography.  www.marriottphoto.com.We got a nice mix of formal poses and candid photo journalism.

We are using Reeves Photography. They have won a bunch of awards and shoot photojournalistic style. Photography is very important to us, as I think it is with anyone. We did not have thousands of dollars to spend on this, but this vendor was within our budget. I have found when it comes to weddings most things are negotiable. :-) Good Luck!

My wedding is Sept 5th and I am going with Memories Thru Time .com.  I absolutely love her. Her name is Amanda and her husband Mike does video.  I have all day coverage with two photographers.  Copyright release and all images on DVD to make our own prints.  It was her highest package and it was $1699 when i booked earlier this year.  There are some amazing photographers in the valley but I didn't have the $3000+ budget to spend. You can email me to see our engagement session to see her style.  lisamaelloyd @ gmail.com Good luck on your search!

Thank you everyone for all of your great suggestions, I had heard of Marriot, but none of the others (I haven't done too much looking into this yet) SO I am excited to check out your suggestions! I'm embarrassed to say, I didn't even know there was more than one style of wedding photography, so I honestly do no know what style I want. I know I want some posed portraits and formal shots and fun casual in the moment shots as well (about 50/50) and I really want a photographer that will tell me what pictures I should take and set up really fun unique shots. I am a bit all over the place with my taste if you couldn't tell ;)@fisktobe, I would love to see your stuff, please send anything you are comfortable sharing to sms274 (at) gmail.com. We aren't really sure on our budget just yet which makes everything so much harder. His parents are also contributing and haven't told us what they plan to contribute. Everyone just keeps saying, "we will make it happen, we don't want to limit you on your big day." Which is great but frustrating because I'd rather know what limits I'm working in to avoid having it look like I am taking advantage. I am just trying to stay at average price points for now to stay safe. Thanks again for all of your help! Any other suggestions or thoughts are always greatly appreciated!!
