Apparently I've been doing this wrong....

I guess I posted this in several different areas of the international board, and have been irritating every bride who doesn't live in Arizona. I'm getting married in April of next year. Several months ago I booked my venue at the AZ Historical Society. I had only visitied the venue in the early afternoon, when airplanes fly into Sky Harbor from the West, and do not pass directly overhead. I recently re-visited the venue, at the time our wedding will take place, and sure enough there was a plane passing overhead every 3-5 minutes (apparently they come in from the West in the morning, and from the East in the afternoon). My first question is: Am I completely insane and "Bridezillia-ish" to want to change the venue? My second question is: Is there ANYONE out there who has been married there already, or even been to a wedding or event there, and can advise on the plane situation? Thank you!

I've never been to a wedding at AZ Historical Society, but I can tell you that being in the flight path is one of the reasons we decided against Tempe Center for the Arts.  We didn't want our vows to be drowned out by planes every few minutes. Have you addressed your concerns regarding the airplane noise with the venue's coordinator?  Did they acknowledge the noise issue or just try to dismiss it as no big deal?

One of the front desk people there said that people have brought up the airplane noise, but no one has issued a solid complaint about it. I decided to go in search of another venue. If I'm able to find one, then I'm going to bring it up to them and see what they're response is. From what you've said though, I at least know that I'm not going overboard in thinking it's a big deal. Can't imagine having to pause during my vows to wait for a jet to pass over. Thank you!

Never been to a wedding there, but was at one where a plane flew over start of ceremony...then another mid vows...no one heard anything. I would go elsewhere.

I don't think you are being a bridezilla.  It is your day and you want it to be perfect.  The last thing you want in the middle of the ceremony are planes flying above.
