I need a rec. for a travel agent to help plan our honneymoon. We want to go on a cruise to Alaska, or even just an Alaskan adventrue. I have no idea as to where to begin. TIA

I think travel agents are kind of considered out of date now-a-days.  Most people are able to find their own deals on websites like travelocity.com and hotels.com.  If you aren't picky about when you go, there are many discount cruise websites that offer last minute deals and money saving trips.  I haven't used any myself to make a recommendation, but going through a website might save you more money than a travel agent.

I usually book through online travel sites, too, for my honeymoon, I figured I'd use a travel agent so I'd have one less thing to worry about.  I used Tami at tripsurfervacations.com.  She does advertise that she specializes in destinations in Mexico, but she can help you with any destination you have in mind.  We didn't pay anything additional for her services (I did a little shopping around myself), a lot of times agents are paid by the resorts for booking guests there.  She was quick to respond to all calls and emails, she shopped around and found better trip insurance coverage for us for the same price as a lesser policy (we didn't ask her to, she just did it on her own!).  One of my favorite parts of booking through her instead of an online travel site--we paid a 25% deposit and then had 4 months to pay the balance, which is very, very helpful when you seem to be writing checks to everybody in the world for your wedding.By the way, an Alaskan cruise sounds fabulous!
