    Welcome to the board!

I am always shamelessly plugging Val Vista Lakes in Gilbert haha! They have a grassy null that for the ceremony, and a banquet room for the reception.  They allow you to bring in any vendor (it can even be you!), so it's a really great place for DIY brides.  It is kind of pricey for a Fri/Sat wedding, but it's more then half off if you get married on a Sunday.

A word about tents, they are really expensive :(  Unless your venue has one, you might want to look into exactly how much it is going to cost.  We were looking at renting a back up tent, and it was going to be a couple thousand dollars for the amount of space we needed.

Not sure where you are looking?
    you could check out:

Old Town Wedding Center...its in downtown Peoria....this was my second option...all DIY....they provide the tables and chairs and a couple of other things.  Very cost effective...and its outside...really super cute!  I just didn't want to do that much DIY...so I opted for another location that was all inclusive.

Venue at the Grove...there aren't any pics on there website but I've heard its a nice place outside too...they have open houses...so you could check it out!

You may also try Chapel at the Farm.  They have a rental fee and then you do the rest as far as arranging the reception.    http://www.chapelonthefarm.com/

I know some other people have looked into the Japanese Flower Gardens for their ceremony and then moved the reception to another location since they don't allow food in the garden.

OR, you may try a local park.

Depending on what your budget is, you can also look at Starfire at Scottsdale CC.  You get married out doors and then you can have your reception inside or outside.  Their prices are very affordable.  So, once you start pricing out some of your options, I would add them into the comparison for sure.   I was pleasantly surprised!  And, they will take care of the food and you will get an event coordinator for the wedding day.

farm at south mountain is a beautiful outdoor site. They already have a white tent set up in the middle of an orchard. The trees will be green and leafy by october. I would have chosen this venue but i have a lot of elderly guests coming from out of town and the grass is a little uneven-not friendly for grandma's. good luck on the hunt.
