    a few ideas...

    - call the chamber of commerce - I called Chandler, and they sent me 2 different types of "visitor" info.  Very informative, colorful booklet and pamphlet..perfect for those from out of town looking to get to know the area....
     - Arizona Iced Tea, See's Candy, or anything that has a southwest flair....

Also, depending on how many guests you have, or where they are staying..I've thought about going to restaurants, shops around the hotel, and asking if they have coupons or anything to include....also considered getting $5 gift cards to the closest coffee shop...but that could get pricey depending on how many you need!
    Hope this helps!

Love those ideas, Andrea! Where in Chandler are your guests staying? My wedding is in downtown Chandler, and we thought about having people stay at Crowne Plaza. However, I know there is like... a Hilton or Sheraton or something closer to the Chandler Mall. Still haven't decided. I like that idea because you can see all of downtown Chandler in 10 minutes. Atleast at the other location there might be a little more to do?

    But those are great suggestions!

    Hi!
We're getting married at Inspirador, so our guests are staying at the San Marcos.  The rate they gave us was great ($85/night) and they set up a web site that our guests could use and make reservations.  They have a shuttle that goes to the Chandler mall for free..They also have a pool that's heated year-round!  I don't know much about the Hilton or Sheraton, but the mall area has a lot of stuff right around it!
Where are you getting married and when?

So far, my gift baskets are comprised of:

    Sunscreen
    Bottled water
    Chap Stick
    Stamped Arizona postcards
A bottle of Kokopelli Sweet Lucy
    Corkscrew
    2 wine glasses
    Chocolates
    Maps
Coupons to nearby restaurants (there are over ten withing walking distance of the hotel)

The San Marcos is really nice!  My best friend got married at El Zocalo in May and her family stayed there.  It's gorgeous!

This is hilarious. These are exactly the plans I'm in the process of making. My wedding is at Inspirador next May, and we were planning on having everyone stay at San Marcos. Maybe rehearsal dinner at El Zocalo or Kokopelli, still haven't decided. I stopped in San Marcos the other day to inquire about group rates for rooms, and I couldn't believe they told me I could get rooms for $85! And then to see that's what other groups have actually gotten - love that! I thought it would be way pricier than that.

Also, great ideas on your gift baskets! I love Kokopelli's Sweet Lucy! I was thinking about serving their Royal or Imperial Kir for our champagne toast.

Happy Planning, ladies! See you in downtown Chandler! Tongue out

I haven't tried either of those yet.  We're doing a moscato for the champagne toast.  I wish we could afford to have Bartenura moscato, because that's my favorite.  But I've found a couple that are less expensive that are still nice and bubbly.
