Hey Gals,

I'm looking into getting the marriage license, and I have a few questions.  Where did you go to do it?  How much was it?  How far in advance did you get it?

I got mine about 2 weeks ago (2 weeks before my wedding) in downtown Phoenix at the Customer Service Center (there are locations all over the valley though). I remember it costing $72 & the process was really quick. We went on a Friday afternoon about an hour before they closed & we were in & out in about 20 minutes. It was painless. GL!

you can get it up to a year in advance of the wedding (or more... but I know its at least a year).

we paid the same as above but about $20 extra for a copy to be automatically mailed to me after our officiant mails the signed one in (you'll need this if you want to change your name... but can always get this later as well).

It is good for a year, the price is $72,  you can go to numerous locations M-F from 8-5.  There is no waiting period, so as soon as you get it you can get married.  You do not need blood tests or anything, just a valid form of ID.

I agree with pp, but definitely pay the extra money for them to automatically mail you the certified copy. I wish I had it would have saved another trip to the building to pick it up and pay for it then.  and if you plan on changing your name, you'll need it.

WE went to the Jackson location as well, I think we got ours like 6 months before hand. DO pay the extra $20 for the copy, we didnt and DH had to go down because I needed the copy to change my name and stuff.
