As I live in the fashion desert that is Tucson, I headed North when it was time to find "the dress". I went to a few other places in Phoenix but they seemed kind of blah (read expensive and not all that impressive). My FH and I are paying for the whole wedding ourselves, so budget was a concern, but I won't lie. I was secretly nursing a hope that I would get to entertain some kind of "Say Yes to the Dress" designer dress, pretty princess dress-up fantasy where I would get the whole experience, the gorge designer dress, and walk out at budget (which was 1200, tops). Enter Lillian Lottie Couture in Scottsdale. I went in on a Saturday with no appointment and they accommodated me with a smile. I explained to Megan, the owner, what I was looking for and what my budget was, and she immediately whipped the perfect dress off the rack. Of course she put me in a bunch of others so I could be confident in my decision, and just have fun, but she nailed it within 5 minutes of meeting me. I ended up with a dress that was under budget, and actually feeling confident in my decision. I don't have any family or close friends nearby to help with planning (I moved here from LA last year, and let me tell you, Lillian Lottie is equivalent to what I was seeing in Santa Monica, and in some cases better as they hand/custom-create a lot of their accessories), so it was totally awesome to get to know all the girls in the shop. I felt like I had a really fashion savvy big sister with me to give guidance and generally save me from being a huge head case, which by the way, I totally am. I was kind of blindsided by the whole "engagement whirlwind", and dress shopping at Lillian Lottie was actually fun and non-stressful. If you are looking for an amazing bridal experience, be it budget or designer, there is no better place in Arizona.
